RE: FAREWELL ML350 INSPIRATION EDITION

thanks for all of your help too Andy.

The all new Malibu MAXX is all new for 2004. I love it. would i choose it over a benz thats built like a tank if this is the 1st time i'm buying a car, probably not. but remember my post about when i made a left turn and my ML stalled in the middle of a busy intersection with my baby in the back seat, at that point i lost all confidence in mercedes.

as far as going with a tahoe or suburban, they haven't been redesigned in ages so i went with the part suv part car Malibu MAXX because of everything that they give as far as options go, i love it.

i also have a wife and 1 year old too Andy. Mercedes-Benz doesn't seem to care about that or if I were to get into an accident because of my hesitation problem.
do you think they care about your family? probably not.....sorry but true, hey good luck though you seemed very cool throughout the time i knew you.

RE: FAREWELL ML350 INSPIRATION EDITION

regarding the quality you "claim" Mercedes has.
can you explain the quality in getting someone killed because the manufacturer cannot solve a problem in the everyday suv you drive your family in? i call that who cares if you die, but thanks for your money.

i'll coment the same to you as I have for Andy.

i also have a wife and 1 year old too. Mercedes-Benz doesn't seem to care about that or if I were to get into an accident because of my hesitation problem.
do you think they care about your family? probably not.....sorry but true.

i don't get why people defend Mercedes when they know very well that they are screwed when it comes to customer service and getting something fixed w/ Mercedes-Benz. without a lawyer I would have got nothing done, is that valuing my business, hell no.

again, nothing personal against you, it's only my opinion. please remember for someone who has been to hell and back with Mercedes I have the right to put them down because they treated me and my family like sh*t.....

P.S. as far as Chevy being good quality, luxury, and craftsmanship as a mercedes benz??? when you put me down with that comment I'll back myself up by telling you as I stated in my post above.

Interesting facts!
1. Repair orders in 1 year owning a MB ML350: 14
2. Repair orders in 5 years owning 6 Chevrolet cars, trucks and suv's COMBINED: 7

ummm, to answer your question yes Chevy in my point of view is better than Mercedes in good quality, luxury, and craftsmanship because of what I've been through.

The history tells it all, what can I say.
good luck to you and all of your journeys sir.

my bad! I thought that was the old compact Malibu that they made a few years ago.

Our experience with MB is very different. I have been driving MB cars for over 12 years now. For the most part I have always had good service and great dealers that were able to take care of any problem that I have had. My 03 ML has been for the most part flawless. There have been a few minor problems but nothing really to complain about. I actually like going up to my dealership. I consider a lot of the employees up there friends and the always make me feel welcome. Also I have an SA and Service Manager that will go to bat for me when I need them. I really can't ask for more.

Again, Good luck. I have enjoyed our conversations over the last couple of months.

Good luck with the new ride. [:D]

RE: FAREWELL ML350 INSPIRATION EDITION

to tell you the truth I didn't even know till I check out their Chevy site and went to the dealership.

your ml has been great? that's awesome! just like my brother's 2002 ml320 with very minor problems. my father has a 2003 c240, no problems at all.....you win some you lose some. take care my friend!

check it out!
2004 Malibu MAXX LT
http://www.chevrolet.com/malibu/
Just look at the options: Epsilon platform, DVD player for rear passengers, 6 disc built IN-DASH cd player, 1st in its class to have electric steering & remote vehicle starter system, sunroof and rear skylight for rear passengers, XM satellite radio, Multi-Flex 60/40 split-folding, sliding/reclining rear seat, heated seats, front and side air bags and much more. I love it when I seen it. It takes a bit to get used to cuz it's so new, but looks better and better each time

easy fix

Djdragan,

I wonder if you ever had your dealer check the ML for a particular problem I suggested a few weeks back - the wiring on the feul pump can sometimes be jiggly and intermittently disconnect the fuel pump and stall the car. This is not specific to the ML, but to many other cars - and is an under 30 min fix by a qualified mechanic.

I think your service dept ignored the obvious and resorted only looking for 'codes' - unfortunately the symptom of poorly trained svc managers and mechanics who become totally reliant on star diagnostic tools and don't know how everything really works.

Anyway, enjoy your new chevy malibu. I had rented one from avis as a rental car a few weeks back. It wasn't for me, but then again, taste may vary so to each his own.

I must say I'm honestly surprised that from all the ML owners here on the forum only a select few admit that they have problems with their ML especially after reading my posts the past year with my problems.
On the contrary, I find forum members here pretty open about their ML problems - including me. I don't recall your specific prior problems, but I'm happy for you that you got what you want - a front-wheel drive Chevy designed to compete with the Honda Accord and the Toyoto Camry.

Here is a C&D review of the Malibu ...

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....rticle_id=7266

Your Chevy is priced right for what it is - mid $20ks. You'll love it until the newness of the gadgets wears off. Then, you'll realize how underpowered it is, how small it is, and how cheaply made it is. God forbid you have to drive in snow (you live in WI, you say?), or worse, get in an accident.

You had (apparently) legitimate gripes about your ML. Too bad your dealer wouldn't stand behind it without the threat of legal action.

There is some good news, though! My odometer just crossed 175k! Woo-Hoo! The engine runs as strong as ever, and I expect to put 250k miles on it, just like I did with the previous Mercedes (E300) I owned.

Bye!

UncAl,

In reading your many sad previous posts it sounds like you love to argue with people and make fun of them as you did with me so I'll be the smart one here and ignore your stupid comment. I stress to you now that I will not respond to any of your posts. Don't waste your time please.

Furthermore since I'm allowed my opinion.....I'd rather choose Chevy than get killed in a Benz that was defective.

Interesting facts!

2. Repair orders in 5 years owning 6 Chevrolet cars, trucks and suv's COMBINED: 7

DJ, I am surprised by your comments. Uncal wasn't making fun of you. Did you actually read the article he linked to? That article gives a great review of the Chevy Malibu! It has European blood - being based on the Saab platform! Why are you so angry! Don't be. No one here is making fun of you.

Just expressing opinions like you were.

Getting so angry and defensive makes it sound like you are not confident about the Chevy Malibu decision. You need not appear that way. I am sure you did what is right for you!

Remember, everyone is just expressing opinions like you were.
