Everyone has made viable points. I prefer to change the oil the old fashion way - from the oil pan drain.
For some reason MB has made this task difficult, when removing the plug the oil comes out at such an angle that it contacts steering components and makes a mess.
Anyone have any enlightening suggestions as to how one could make this more pleasant?

I cut the bottom off the .5L water bottles and angle + duct tape them together to slip it between the frame and the two hoses so it is long enough to reach the drain pan. after the drain. I use the bottle as funnel for oil filler hole

I've had pretty good luck with one of these http://www.fumotovalve.com/ Get the one with the nipple and you can drain it with a 1/4 inch hose into a drain pan [;)]

I've got the F-106N (N for nipple) with the ADP-106 adapter. The the drain valve screws into the adapter which screws into the oil pan. The adapter compensates for the recess in the oil pan. [:)]
