I think I have a problem with my ABS. I started experiencing a groaning noise intermittently. This appears to be the ABS system kicking in. Shortly there after all 3 lights come on. Apparently when the abs system has a problem it disables the BAS & ETS. The lights go off after some driving but they can light up out of the blue when I'm driving down the road. I have also experienced intermittent traction control light (!) when turning left, this is dangerous because the engine will bog from the traction control system and I can't accelerate (bad news when traffic is coming). I have 60K miles so I am past my new car warranty (ML430 2001).
I think that something may be up with the passenger front ABS sensor (if there is such a thing). Any suggestion on what to look for would be helpful. I am dreading taking this to the dealer, but with the intermittent traction control kicking in I feel it is dangerous to drive. Any ideas?
