after 9 years and 150k miles. Then the next day I drove over 300 miles. I was amazed at the gas mileage difference to my destination. I was getting 2 mpg more than normal. "Wow" I said to my wife "look how smart I am". Then on my way home my gas mileage went down 2 mpg below normal. Then my wife looks at me and points to the trees fighting the wind.
Needless to say, the cleaning didn't do any good but the head wind sure helped!
Bavenda, we tend to get little better mileage when we are watching the mileage (possibly using the gas pedal more conservatively)... that results in thinking that we are getting better mileage. Same goes true for the upgrades (like air filter upgrades, fuel saving gizmos, etc).
