depends what you buy, but I'd say just about any new good HD Plasma TV has a tuner and can run off the Satellite Reciever. Note that to get the best definition on LCD or Plasma TV's you need a HD receiver if it's satellite and the oval dish not round. The best connection right now for HD video is called DVI. This is being phased out to what's known as HDMI which has a higher bandwidth and can do both uncompressed video and sound.
I bought a Panasonic 50" Plasma with a 3000:1 contrast ratio (HDMI connection) with the Samsung HD Satellite reciever (DVI Output) and DirectTV HD dish. But I had to get a adapter cable from Panasonic that was DVI-HDMI for it to work well. But the quality is now amazing.
If you are going to get a plasma tv, make sure it has at least DVI or Component inputs (RGB) and is HD ready. If you are going for 42" or more get the best contrast ratio you can find. If you are going for 50" the Panasonic is the best out there with 3000:1

You might want to consider the new DLP front projectors
Much less $$$$ than a plasma, bigger viewing screen than plasma, no image burn-in problems, and (depending on model you choose) already comes with DVI, Component video inputs, S-video, etc
I'm saving up for the BenQ PE8700...

Agree that DLP is cheaper but you decide? This is the 50" Panasonic, Samsumg HD Receiver, Bose Lifestyle 28, Monster Home Theater Surge Protector, Philips Pronto NG TSU-7000 Color Touch Screen Remote, all cables are internally routed in the walls including all cube speakers in family room.

When I got my Home Theatre a few years ago, I decided to wait until HD standards were finalized, and also for the prices to come down. I have a Sony 36" flat screen tube TV now, and will replace it in a few more years.
I've got a Yamaha A/V amp with Definitive Technology Sat spkrs, center channel & sub, and a Phillips Pronto TSU2000. Alex, did you program the remote yourself?

That setup no doubt costs a lot of money and needs lots of real estate space (which I also don't have personally [:D]). However, thank God for basements in the east coast. That is where I spend most of my saturday nights watching movie rentals.
I have a 36" Sony XBR (4:1 aspect) HDTV ready, Marantz SR7000 receiver, PSB Alpha surround sound speakers+ center, and a PSB sub.

Yes I programmed the Remote with help of www.remotecentral.com They have a lot of downloads with the codes. That was the only way I was able to get the Bose to work since it is RF, but can be set up to work with IR.
