How hard is it to replace the cargo area carpet?

Last summer I picked up some liquid chlorine for my pool and when I got home it had leaked out on to my cargo area carpet [:0]
Anyone replace this?
If so how hard is it to do and what was the cost?
TIA

RE: How hard is it to replace the cargo area carpet?

It's about the same difficulty as installing the 3rd row seat package without installing it. You need to remove the rear quarter panels, and all that entails, plus the cargo hooks ... it comes right out then.

Don't know how much it costs, but if it's like anything else with Mercedes it shouldn't be very much. It's the electronics and options that are costly. Not the interior panels, and stuff like that. You can download the 3rd row seat WIS from my website, http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsit...row%20seat.htm, and that will show you how to remove everything.

RE: How hard is it to replace the cargo area carpet?

That's funny, you should ask, l just received a quote for carpet and install of $1500.00 through my dealer......l was contemplating on having the "Old" carpet removed and replaced with a "New" one... as well as the upgrade insulation package...but this is much "too expensive"..............in my opinion...

Searching parts.com reveals a price of $222US thru

Penmark Auto Group. I know dealer prices are quite a bit higher.

Try this Kirk

Goto:
http://www.pennmarkauto.com/parts/index.htm
and choose year/model/collision
From the left side bar choose:
1. Rear body & floor
2. Interior trim
3. Floor cover

Unfortunately, I could not get a URL which connected directly to the screen.
