l've had mine for 2 years now.....lt's a "Love-Hate" relationship.....l've replaced the items most of us have...fuel pump and lines..bushing's galore, all 4 shocks, fuse box fan, driveshaft bearing's,some items under warranty, some not....l would recommend getting the extended warranty.......As for the engine and tranny..."World Class"....As well as being able to upgrade...very user friendly....as you can see, by all the "mods", many of us have performed....First and foremost..."Remember,that it is a "Luxury truck, not a "Luxury SUV...it rides like a truck....

I am going on 6 months and 10k miles with my 1999 used ML 430 purchase and I must say that I extremely happy with my decision on purchasing this vehicle. I have had no issues, at all! Love the power of the V8, has a great sporty ride. Not a single negative to mention. One thing you may want to try is calling your local MB dealer and giving him the VIN, they should be able to pull the majorty of the service records from thei database even if it wasn't serviced at their location, just as long as it was serviced at an authorized MB service center.
I have had two at one time, all '99 430's best thing I have ever had. I find them to be better than anything else on the market now ,and you have the support of a great bunch of guys!
Just sold my blue high milage one to my son, sort of gave it away. trouble free except for normal care and service. [55,000mi]
