I used to have the temp between 85-90 (in hot summer), but recently I can see that the temp is going up to 95 although that the weather now is much colder than in summer. what can this be? is it something I have to report to the dealer?

Check your radiator and condeser coil to see if they have become blocked with bugs or dirt.

I can't see anything strange in the radiator. where is the condenser coil located?
I checked the cooling water level and it was lower than the cold level mark, the dealer added distilled water but still the temp is at 95. the SA was telling me that this is a normal temperature, but I can't beleive it since my car used to have 85-90 degrees in summer. Anybody has a V8 (may be it's different[?] who can tell me what temperatures they use to have? Thanks[?]

ekhalil,
The condenser coil is in front of the radiator.
Check the fan clutch on the fan on the engine. If it goes bad it will not let the fan stop turning at highway speeds, thereby restricting air flow to through the radiator.
Water temp will vary by out door ambient temp but it should be the same as previously observed.
Another thought is that you could have a temp sensor going bad.

Thanks Andy,
Does the 95 degrees indicate some malfunction, or just the change in temp which is bad? Actually my SA was convincing me that the higher temperature is better for the metal than the lower temperature [:D].
In the owners manual, it says that any temperature below 120 is normal. I'm just worried because the temp was lower when the ambient temp was around 45 degrees than now when the ambient temp is 20 [:(]

Your engine will be more efficient when it has warmed up. The FSS actually monitors the number of cold starts and trips you have taken without reaching optimum oil temperature. Cold starts are not bad because the metal parts are cold, it's more due to the fact that the oil has not reached optimum temperature and thus does not provide it's best friction limiting characteristics. The engine has not been fully lubricated when you cold start. That's why you should take it easy for the first few miles...
So there is an optimum range of temperatures, and maintaining a coolant temp of 85-90 seems to be the ticket to keep oil temp and engine parts within check. Exceeding 120 Celcius for the coolant will most likely cause engine damage.
To say that higher temperatures are better is somewhat of an idiocy without context! If that were true, we should all get rid of our radiators so as to maximize the temperature. 95 is not worrysome, fluctuations are to be expected although I notice that I am usually in the 85-90 range myself.
Have you checked that the coolant level in the expansion vase (it's orange liquid and it is located centrally, closest to the windshield.
Have you added coolant in between your observations of the temps going up? If so, did you use the MB coolant and mixed 1:1 as prescribed by MB? The coolant has additives that will increase the solution's boiling point so you really want to follow instructions if you need to top off!

I've checked the water level and it's below the cold level sign. Where does the water go? Is it normal that water level drops?[?]
