This thing is called the VW phaeton it's a V12. It reminds me of Audi. I dont think I would buy one. I can't associate the VW name with luxury IMO.What do you guys think
I thought I had confused the Audi and VW grill ornament the other day on the way to work. Day Audi in Monroeville, PA had one up on ramps ... outside with snow on it!!!
Personally I like the looks of that car. Seems solid too, although I haven't driven one. In my opinion VW should have come up with a different name to market that vehicle in the luxury segment, kind of what other manufacturers do, such as Toyota with Lexus, Nissan with Infinity, or even Mercedes-Benz with the Maybach. But still, great looking vehicle, compliments!
I sat in one the other day at the local VW dealership, and there is no way that I could be impressed by that VW. The interior was no where near the BMW or Mercedes. It seemed like a Passat with more legroom.[8)]
I will never pay 72k for a VW!! Even it was my first car (a beetle) and I love VW's its too much money for me. If a luxury car IMO I definitly prefer MB or BMW
The Phaeton interior is giving me a better impression than the one of the Audi A8... But I think that the A8 looks a lil' better from the outside, execpt for the exhaust pipes []
VW's is actually pretty much two VR (V-Reihen meaning a cross of V and in line because the angle between the cyls is so narrow so it's shorter than an in line, but is more stable than a V)
Nice engine.
Saw one on Ring R0 a few months back, did look like a huge passat from the front.
There are two of these factory press car around Westwood area. One black and one silver. I usually find them parked outside of "THE W" at Hilgard Ave and LeConte.
Just for those who lives around Los Angeles and interested in closer look to this car.
