alarm is not workin!...need help

my remote stopped working all of the sudden this afternoon...changed new battery. still nothing. is there an alarm switch or something. im talking about the remote not even working. i have a 99ml320

You may have to take to the dealer to reprogram the remote.

but do you have any idea why it just stopped working? this was my only key that has the remote working...now i gotta use the key to open the door...and its pouring out [:(]

Okay, this is what you need to do. Insert the key in the ignition and turn to position 2 and the position 0 and remove.

Within 10 seconds, push and hold the lock button while pushing the unlock button 5 times.

Release the lock button and press either the lock, unlock or hatch button once.

The remote is now resynchronized.

WOW ANDY!!! you should be named the MLguru lol. it worked. andy, one more question...do you know why the key unsync itself..(not sure if that is the right term).

Could be that the batteries ran down in the key, the truck battery may have a low voltage, a random EMF caused an issue with the storage, or any number of reasons. With my old truck (non-OEM alarm), if you pressed the unlock button out of range of the truck for too long it would lose sync with the truck and you'd have to hold the button down for about a minute for the rolling codes to resync.
