Surging and rough idle cure

Dealer had the truck for 4 weeks to cure surging and a miss at idle. They replaced everything and finally found a bad EGR valve. It was sticking open and creating an air leak. This does not cause the check engine light to come on because it only looks to see that the valve opens. Hope this might help some one else.
