I am the original owner of a 99 ML 320 with 154,591 miles and have had no major problems. Though I plan to do it before the end of this year, the transmission fluid has not been changed. I also plan to replace the motor mounts. Nonetheless, I love the truck and cringe everytime my wife mentions getting something bigger for our ever growing carpool group.

Reason: Forgot to include mileage
1999 ML320, original owner bought new. 270,000+ miles
still a solid ride. Body beginning a little rust now but not bad. Changed tranny fluid 3 or 4 times, about to do it again.
Major problems:
valve seals and piston rings at 115,789 miles
power steering pump, tensioner 186,983 miles
tie rods and carrier bearing 187,674 miles
fuel pump 205,463 miles
air conditioner compressor 209,388 miles
ball joints 226,306 miles
power steering pump again 226,306 miles
belt pulley and catalytic converter 253,522 miles
Bought it CPO with 73k miles August of 06, now at 113k miles, and going strong.
There were a few issues during the first few months,
most items were things that were missed, or broken/disconnected/tooken during the CPO process.
stupid secondary lighting system (fog light cord disconnected, rear side marker cord missing)
But the car has been very reliable.

I've got mine with 135k miles one year ago and it has 145k now. I'm just back from 1600 miles trip around Utah and Arizona. No problems at all. I've been at the dealer to change my transmission fluid, fix a leak of the fluid and an oxygen sensor few months ago. Very happy with the truck so far.
I have 189,000 miles on my 2000 ML430, and it is just now giving me major problems. It has been great until now. I love my truck and i will have everything fixed so i can continue to enjoy it.
We puchased our ML new and, with kids in college, won't be replacing it anytime soon. Fortunately, it has been a great, reliable vehicle. It is still very tight, doesn't feel old at all. We now have 107K miles on it.

150,000mi. on my 2000 ML320. Nothing "major" except all of a sudden one of my doors decided not to open...
Plenty of window switches. Now a cracked weld on a CAT Air pump, and something with the power steering.
This truck has seen thousands of miles of trails in the middle of the Mojave and other deserts, been over sand dunes, through rivers and streams, deep sticky mud, and plenty of snow and ice. Low range gets a work-out. Been offroading it since I bough it new in '99.
Accidentally went off a few jumps, but lets not talk about that hah
Overall an expensive car to maintain, but its a good truck, and very safe.
