Well my coolant leak is back again this winter. Last winter, when it got below 15 degrees, my ML developed a coolant leak that took 3 trips back to the dealer to fix, after a new waterpump gasket, thermostat housing gasket, new upper hose and adding die to the coolant they finally got it fixed. All spring and summer it was dry as a bone an no problems. The last two - three weeks it has been pretty cold here and the leak has now reappeared, you can really spot that die on the snow, and it looks like it might be in the same place on the front of the motor by the waterpump/thermostat area.

Has anyone else in the cold climates experienced this? It's odd that it was fine till the cold weather again as I'm sure if it was anything serious (cracked housing, etc) it would do it all the time. I think my ML is a fair weather vehicle as it seems to love the warmer weather.

Other than that minor annoyance this thing is the best vehicle I've owned in a long time and I just love it. And that says something from someone who used to swap vehicles every year or two. I feel sorry for all those folks who didn't buy one because of the poor reporting in Consumer Reports on the 99 and later ML's, this vehicle beats the other in this class hands down and there is no US built vehicle that will ever compare to the ML.
