Quick POLL: Sport Package W163 Wheels with Tires or ML500 Wheels Only?
I need to buy a set of used wheels for winter use.
I'm currently bidding on ebay for a set of 4 sport package wheels with Dunlop tires already mounted for +/- $1450. If I buy this set, I will probably just sell the tires anyway and add it up for purchase of a set of new winter tires. This ebay auction will end soon and this is option A.
Pic of Option A:

Option B: would be to buy the same wheels I have now (ML500/ML350 Inspiration Edition wheels) somewhere in PA for only $145 each thus only $580 for a set of four. If I add cost of winter tires this option will still cost less than the ebay auction.
Pic of option B:
Either way, I can pickup the wheels thus saving me even further on the shipping and handling.
So, which one do you think should I go for: Option A for $1450(sport package with mounted tires; unmount tires and buy winter tires); or Option B (buy ML500/ML350 Inspiration Edition wheels + winter tires) for about $1000.
RE: Quick POLL: Sport Package W163 Wheels with Tires or ML500 Wheels Only?
why not just buy winter tires and have the shop swap them out on your existing rims. If you "need" a second set of the same rims, I voted fro option B.
I logged in on that auction and was ready to bid, then changed my mindont he look of the Option A rims. I think I'll just get new tires and keep my 16's and spend the big bucks on my next ML (or Magnum SRT-8 Hemi)

I say live for today. Since the tires are worn, why not just swap the entire package.
BTW, I will never buy another Chrysler vehicle. MB and Chrysler are not sharing parts like you think. Basically Chrysler gets MB's hand-me-downs. Look at the "new" Chrysler Crossfire. It's basically a 5 year old SLK platform. Better than anything that Chrysler has perhaps, but certainly not a MB.
The Pacifica does not share anything with a MB aside from a somewhat similar rear suspension design from the previous generation E-class (which came out in 1995).

I'd go for B on taste, but A may be good for a change of look

that you want. Not, I don't want your ML to be look like mine and Drew, [:)][;)] Sport Evo II is better than 500 IMO, but you want to save some[:(][:(]Or buy BOTH[:D][:)]

why not just buy winter tires and have the shop swap them out on your existing rims.
I did this previously on my Audi's and it was such a hassle, not to mention the annual cost of labor (swapping all-season tires with winter tires) and the risk of scratching the wheels. For convenience sake, getting another set of wheels with winter tires is the way to go.

Thanks for the vote. Yeah, I think option B makes more sense.

The EVOII wheels sure pleases the eye, nice solid sturdy sporty look to it because of its design. But I think the ML500 is classier with its 7(?) spoke design.
