Blinking MCS, guages

Has anyone ever noticed blinking of the MCS or other guages? I dno't know whether to call it blinking, but the brightness surges at times, sometimes related to engine speed or to turning on somethinkg else electrical - like the brake lights.

Re: Blinking MCS, guages

I noticed that on my 2001 ml as well. Since they replaced my mcs unit due to other problem, I think it does not do that any more. I have to check that next time I drive it.

Re: Blinking MCS, guages

If it's a cloudy day, maybe it's alternating between day and night mode (brightness) because the light sensors are operating at the borderline? I think the trip computer displays does the same as the MCS, so is the backlighting on yours fluctuating too?

Oddly, the temp/odo/clock guages fluctuate on cloudy days (sometimes getting too dim to see) when the headlights are on, but NOT along with the MCS and trip computer....
