I like to have a copy or an original manual or maybe there is an tech-info-CD. (I do not know)
I used to repair my own cars the last twenty years, but until now I could find any documentation. I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks in advance, Fred
Fred,
I saw, either on this site or MercedeShop.com, something regarding CD's of all of the original service literature. I think it was a 2 disk set for around $160. I, too, will want such info if I take the plunge I am considering. Thinking more about it, it may have been on the offical MB site.
Good Luck!
GregD

RE: I need a Technical / Repair Manual, W140 300 3.2
Just a note, i purchased a set not long ago and found it only worked with Windows 2000. It said it would work with XP as long as without service pack two DO NOT BELIEVE IT. I bought XP w/o SP2 and I even bought another hard drive...after three months
I finally got my refund and went to "ALLDATADIY.COM and joined for 24.95 and now have everything I could ask for for my 94' S420. Just be careful, alot of fraud is going on and my set was valid... just needed Win2000 and even when I got WIN 2000 they said i could not use a virus program on my pc either Norton was out with the PC... ya see it uses the internet too for access and keeping an eye on you not reselling that copy, etc. Hope dis helps... hans

I see on e-bay a 2 CD technical/repair manual. I was wondering if anyone has purchased this item and if so how would you rate it. I would also like to purchase one but the one on e-bay is intriguing but would like some info before I buy one.

MB sells a DVD for the entire 140 series 300 thru 600 92 to 99. IT runs on 98 2nd. ed. NT 4.0 service pak 5 or 6, thru XP(with serv.2) It needs to run Acrobat reader 5 is best(included, and a browser IE 5 or later. You do need a DVD. I think MB sells it thru 1-800-for-mercedes. I got mine thru Caliber motors in CA $158 + ship

The 2 CD set for the S-class I was referring to on e-bay sells for $13.99 which sound pretty cheap, so I was wondering if anyone has purchased this item and if so are the CD's as good as the expensive ones. Someone out there must have given these a try and if so I would be interested if they are good and if I should buy them.
