Best place to buy battery?

Alright, it's time to replace a battery in my 99 S500. Not surprisingly, my local Costco doesn't carry the right sized battery for the W140. So, where to buy the battery at a good price? Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time that I purchased a car battery from non-Costco store in my 25+ years of driving.

Also, does this forum have any opinions on whether to buy a MB battery vs. aftermarket? Currently, my car has an aftermarket battery and I've not had any problems with it in my 4 years of ownership until last week. Any recommendations on a particular brand?

Thanks.

battery

FWIW, for about twenty years or so, I've had absolutely the best results with batteries from Walmart.

Johnson Controls owns Varta (MB OEM) and makes the Everstart for Walmart. Don't know if specs are the same though.

I have two relatively new Everstart and so far no problems. Owned three Vartas in the past which all went over 12 years!

Also Walmart gives you a 5 years warranty. I don't think you will need to keep the receipt as the battery will come with a date sticker on it (Mo/Yr) for example 04/17 for April 2017 so make sure you pick the newest date on the shelf to get the maximum warranty and if anything happens you just take it to Walmart for replacement.
