i do not have the owner manual.
what is this item in the engine bay?
what fluid will it need as it is at a very low-level and dark green in colour..
i truly hope it does not belong to the suspension system…
thanks for the reply.
is this the self levelling system i have? if so should i not have a button in the car that lower/rises the suspension?
is the fluid the same that is used for the later ABC system …i.e. NOT the power steering fluid. if you can give me some guidance i can then start hunting other threads.
thanks again
Panchoi,
It requires a special hydraulic fluid. Go to your dealer. You mentioned "dark green". In my car '97 CL500 it is clear colored. I just bought a replacement bottle for about $20USD
I would suggest you (or your mech) flush the sytem and replace with OEM fluid. In my car, it levels itself automatically. There is no button to push.
Good luck
Anziani
this is the same fluid that a i used to change the old fluid in my 129 sl for the hydraulic roof mech.
is a very fluid clear oil..
by comparison the SLS oil i have currently have in the 140 is blue discoloured crud,
will be changing asap..
thanks
