V12 Testament Sedan and Coupe
This was posted on the E38 forum on bimmerforums but the guys also talk about the W140 and coupe in a negative way calling the coupe "one of the worst two doors Mercedes made". The whole clip is about Cheap V12's:
I like how they compare drivers of the M120 engines to taxi cab drivers in the Sudan.
The hilarious thing is that they both look so terrible in appearance, that they might only be able to apply for a job as a taxi driver in the Sudan. Although, I doubt they would get the job...
Made sense what they said about the risks of the C215 V12, but just no knowledge of the M120.

I knew you'd protect your coupe, I know the one on the left is very well established, owns his own website and YouTube account, he gets sponsors and he was also on the car show. He's making bank but sometimes his facts are wrong. Its really opened my eyes how they could say such hurtful garbage, I sent Matt Farah (TheSmokingTire) a message about the W140 and how its the best car in the world, how hes also lost a fan. In the comments their was a few people who mentioned the 600sel.
However, and very sadly - given the nutritional poverty of the average North Amercian diet and the average city's chemical soup of pollution, obesity is rampant, baldness is commonplace in twenty somethings, people's brains are deteriorating faster than ever, 1 in 3 may sadly get cancer, and TV presenters wear clothes more appropriate to Stryker's peanut gallery "O.K." comments - can we take such commentary seriously?
Next they will be saying Beethoven is difficult to listen to..., as their attention spans are not up to it.
Same with a 140 really, you need to be able to appreciate things that are done properly... They take time and effort, they are worth it however.
I can't really blame them because they're no better than the people here in benzworld that preach about how unreliable a V12 is based on hearsay and myths spread through word of mouth over the past 2 decades.
I think V12 engines in general, regardless of manufacturer have a certain legend around them with regards to high maintenance costs and unreliability, which is sad because the engines get generalized when not all V12s are as bad as people think they are.
I personally blame Jaguar. They're the first manufacturer post-WWII that brought out V12 to the masses, and the stories of unreliability and high maintenance costs has since been associated with those cars, and with that people automatically assume all V12s share the same traits.
I can care less what people think of V12s. I know better because I've worked and own one and will continue to put haters in their place the next time I see someone talking shit without knowing what they're talking about.

But a 600 has more Smiles-Per-Gallon over other cars
Unless you've owned a pre-facelift V12 or any V12 for that matter, you better shut the hell up or i'll give you a piece of my mind
I respect peoples' opinions on cars but nothing bugs me more than seeing people with a HORRIBLE sense of humor bag on cars they don't understand.
I'm only 21 years old, and these guys seem beyond uneducated in terms of the way they act. Their fake laughs and snickering got on my nerve throughout the whole video.. They may be able to read specifications and read sticker prices, but by no means can I respect a person's opinions that trashes on any sort of car with their sense of humility and humor.
They compare 4 cylinder cars to 8 and 12 cylinder cars..? Besides heating issues, what other engine problems can we suffer in V8's and V12's..? Surely the V8 and V12 suffer less wear and tear over the course of mileage and time. The things that suffer is the stuff around the engine due to heat. The 4 cylinders have to work a lot harder and the pistons and etc receive more work.
The W140 coupe being the "worst"? I personally like the look much more than the newer generations of Benz aside from the newest coupe (that one's beautiful).
My buddy drove my Coupe last night because he wanted to compare the new cars to others, and wanted to make a decision of what to buy next and he loved mine. He said the new benz's and bmw's didn't feel as solid as my car and shifting was fluent between gears. Ofcourse.. I let him downshift just to have a bit of fun ^_^. The acceleration from 0 wasn't as strong as in his lighter BMW 3 series, but he said the upper range sure pulled harder than his and he liked it, and that's what's expected once the beast is in motion and has momentum.
I can't take the buffoons in the reviews seriously.. It reminds me of people that use the argument that Toyota's are better than our Benz's because they break less, which is a false assumption. Just because their cars are cheaper to fix, doesn't mean they break less than ours. I know most of my friends have to fix their cars much more often than mine, I've only recently been restoring it more and at higher costs than their repairs, but has always been drivable as opposed to theirs.

1997 S500 Coupe - Silver on Black
I have never heard of these two characters I found their routine relatively interesting and occasional humorous. Years ago I owner a 750 BMW and it was a very difficult and expensive V12 experience. I always said that those cars should have been delivered with their own private BMW mechanic to keep the car on the road. Because of that sour experience I made it a point to go with a v8 vs. a v12 when I purchased my W140. I will be the first to admit that this may have been a biased and illogical conclusion. Never the less, I am extremely happy with the 97 S500 Coupe (black/black) which I located and bought a couple of years ago. I found it rather painful to watch the afore mentioned video speak of the W140 coupe in such derogatory terms. Beside the enjoyment of driving the car I also appreciate the fact that most people have no idea what year Mercedes I'm driving - most mistake it for a much newer (and expensive) model. Most just recognize the car as a big black like new Mercedes Coupe.
