How to replace key battery for 96 S320?

It just seems like it takes forever to lock my car with the key being aimed at the rear view mirror. I'm thinking there is a battery in the key. I do not want to try and pry anything open without knowing what I am doing. It is a key to a 96 S320. The key "box" (for lack of a better descriptor) is black, about 2 inches long and one inch wide rectangle, with a tiny button on upper left corner which you push to get the key to pop out of the side of the rectangle. Thanks for any ideas/help.

Hi OCMD,
There is definetly a battery in there. When mine was dead I took it to one of those small gadet repair shops who changed the battery for about $5. Then I was able to reprogram he remote and alarm and now my system works great. How many buttons are on your remote? The older remote has only one button and there is a 3 button version that includes a trunk opener.
regards

Rikana: I have one button, very similar in fact almost identical to the key in the You tube video provided by Merc S500. Thank you both. is it easy to re- program the key? Thanks!

Hi,
Its as easy as Merc s500 has posted. I discovered on mine that if you press on the lock button and aim at a door handle, it raises the windows. I am not sure if this is on all of them or the later models.... Pretty cool!!!

LoL,when you close the car with the key & you happen to have windows and sunroof open ,hold the flipkey button press't until all windows and also the Sunroof closes automatically , now the good part is that when you come back to the car say about half an hour later ,press the button on the remote ,hold it until the windows /sunroof go back to the same position they were in when you closed the car before but make sure your windows & Sunroof are synchronized in properly otherwise it wont work, there is also another hidden function on that remote but i havn't tested it to be 100 % sure that it is an actual function ,more on that when i'm sure about it ,it involves twisting it left /or right ,(?) .

Rikana;you dont need to aim it ,get a sniperscope for that (lol),if your batteries are ok and all is functioning ,just aim it at the car ,anywere pratically
