The yellow pipes are all the locking including the trunk handle, all of my other 4 are occupied.

If the pump was second hand then it will have been programmed.

Look inside the rear of your trunk lid and there is a hole with a lever in it, it nay have been moved fully left for operation when the PSE pump has failed

Sorry, had to search im my own old post there;
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w140...se-please.html

So the temp disconnected one is for Lumbar (M for Multicontour). I was figuring out
why that did not work at the time.

Which brings me to the programming of the unit. I think thats not a special thing for the 1998 one. Dependent on equipment, the PSE has to be told what to expect to drive.

Here is a screenshot from the PSE Version Coding dialog in HHTWIN;

As you can see, its only the existence of automatic A/C (yes, the w140 could be
had without it), Lumbar, and Rear hear restraint release together with trunk lid remote
release. (As for the grouping of the last two, I think they share the lines somewhat).

Ok I understand, so it is for lumbar support. I have that working just fine so as the rear headrest release.

the only thing I still cant figure out is the boot close assist . Need to wait until stops raining cause it's been pouring all day.
But yesterday I had it all taken out from the lid, checked the airlines and seems ok. Not tested them just visual check.
I cant get the retractable thing to release manually with that lever on left. It does not move in any direction.

I will give it a try when it will be dry weather ( yeah.... like that is likely to happen in Scotland a lot..... LOL)

When I bought my car the PSE pump was out of order and the boot lid has in the manual mode. I took all of my lock out of the lid all to no avail.

What you should have been told is to check the running time of the pump, if it runs for more the a few seconds it will go the same way as the old one.

Does your button on the dash release the lid, if not then the actuator in the bottom lock has failed the same as mine, Once I blocked the pipe while waiting for the vacuum actuator (£12) I blocked off the pipe to stop the pump from over running, then the handle in the boot came to life.

Forget about close assist till the lock is correct

I checked my pump and it runs about 4-5 sec before it stops.

so it looks like the actuator is gone as it does not work by pressing the switch inside the car. I can only open the boot lid by pressing the keyhole button. But it locks and opens as with the rest of lock as I operate the central locking mechanism. So which actuator has to be replaced if any?

If the remote will not actually open the lid and neither will the inside switch then I feel that actuator in the bottom is not working.

Just pull the plastic rivet studs out of the plastic trim over the opening and lift it off, bend the carpet down and undo the bolts holding the lock and lift it out, the air pipe and actuator clip into the left hand side.

By pushing down the lock catch it should pop up if all good on the remote

It would not let me edit my last post but you can test it all out by simply pressing down the lock catch with your finger, and the remote or inside switch should release it

Ok here we go. Today I checked again and had to swap 2 hoses on a PSE pump. The 2 bottom hoses ( black and double white ) were swapped over and my retractable tongue and handle at back came to life. On the other hand the rear head restraint stopped working and the inside switch still does not operate the trunk release.
Took all out again and found hidden in body there is a cable hanging loose again and it is connected to the microswitch in the lock as you can see on the picture. I tried to look for a connection to it but there is none. Please if somone knows where to connect that cable please let me know.

I just went out to the car now and swapped the airhoses back as it supposed to be ( according to this picture see attached ) and rear head restraints working now, but the tongue and the handle do not work neither the release from the remote. So this means the pump is not supplying air/vacuum to that air line. Question is why? Could that be because that micro switch is not hooked up and can't signal to pump to operate? I have no idea.

Any suggestions?

As a further reference to the connectors on the pump, heres an image of my C140 1998.
It has, like all coupes?, electric lowering and rising of the back headrests, so no double
connector on the white one. (Strange that all 4 central lock lines are connected on a coupe, though...);
