since W140 are not equipped with rolls royce phantom's hide and pop out ornaments I was searching through and this pop up! I think its best idea so far.
ah. well, i consider time is money, and considering the low cost to replace one of these things i dont think they are stolen as much as they used to be to make ghetto neckchains anymore so i say a total of 30 seconds each time you get in and out of the car, figure 3 minutes a day thats 21 minutes a week, 28 days 84 minutes a month...well, as mercedes owners im sure most of us means our time is worth more than minimum wage, so lets say 20 bucks an hour at least just to really lowball and 2 hours of our time pays for that thing
ok im just lazy and refuse to do it, considering how faded the mercedes wreath and writing is on the stars base is, id have to assume its the original star so if no one stole it in 16 years, ill say its doing just fine LOL
yup you could use this idea to customize your ornament such as your name initials, different symbols, animals, glowing glass figures, chromed out action figures, religiouse symbols, and my favorite samurai sword. lol
I got one of those...you don't actually have to screw it into the base...it slides in. I got it off eBay, but the chrome on it is cheap and does not last...I have since switched back to the traditional badge..
I did that to my driveways sides once just that it wasnt exactly a tazer , more like low voltage electricity , some idiots decided to steal all the plants in the driveway ,twice, ( war ) so i chained them up hook'ed some invisible electrical wires around it and waited ,all was good exept for one detail ,i forgot about ,DOGS ,every dog that pass't & decided to do it's little water on it got zapped , i took it all off not to hurt any animal (dogs ) ,so far they have never been touched again ,they are to big now anyway ,but yeah it was a good laugh at the time seeing the dogs pull there tail inbetween the legs and run for it .
Would i do this now ,no ,they can have the plants ,lol.
Tell me about it , i saw it all ,i'm still when reflecting on it in my mind lmfao now , these dogs just used to bolt off left right and centre some even with there owners attached to the dogleash ,i wish i would have had a video camera at the time ,lucky no one ever got hurt or found out but if you can picture a dog stop and start weeing on a plant then take of with it's unsuspecting super calm owner that is looking around if anyone is watching that the dog is doing its buisness in front of there house or so,you got something reeeeeeeealy to laugh at,not only laugh at i nearly died laughing at it , lol .
Haven't had the issue of ornament theft yet. But I think having to unscrew it everytime is ridiculous lol
It's like "hold on guys, let me screw the ornament first"
Or "go ahead guys go grab us a table, I gotta take this off!"
Or someone saying "WTF is that in your pocket? Dont tell me you're carrying your cars emblem everywhere you go? Hahaha"
Thanks Gnasha, he's a really cool doggie. From hiking the desert in New Mexico to taking the public bus in urban Virginia, he is always ready for adventures. I leave him and his big sis in the 124 when I go to the store with the keys in the ignition and the windows down. Smart but not brilliant, I sent him to go get in the car from a strip mall and he ran and jumped through the window of the wrong car, thankfully they were dog lovers and thought it was hilarious. Although he does make sure windows are down after since he bounced his face off of my truck window a couple of times.
These are from my last roll of Kodachrome (RIP).
Merc, that is so funny! You have six Benz Blings! You have more matching Blings then I have ties.
Actually I'm suprised mine isn't messed with more than it is. Every now and then I'll notice it's at an angle and I'll know someone's played with it. Truthfully if someone want's it THAT ban just take it but don't bend the hood metal doing it, they're not that expensive.
I heard of someone sharpining the bevels of the circle around the star so if/when someone grabbed it they'd cut the hell out of their hand.
Scratching an S600 is just wrong on so many levels, scratching a Pullman, unthinkable. About a year ago one sold on fleabay US for 32 grand, I think that must have been the deal of the century.
time and time again I hear of this mindless vandalisn , I fail with mine own limited inteligence to comprehend why somebody would do that to another persons property, its so sad, I really feel for the guy
Sad to inform and say but the following week more Mb's got vandalized at the same car park (MB Club),all scratched ,to think of that i was supposed to be there as well but could'nt attend those 2 weeks since then i have never gone back there ,dont know what has happen'd since then there ,i do hope it has been sorted out and the responsible vandaliser's got caught out ,(those little good for nothing basterds).
BTW :The S600 guy sold his S600 just after that vandalism ,he was very upset ,well, i would be too ,but not to the point to sell the car ,everything can be fixed somehow .
w
a lot of car parks over here have cctv which may have got them, but more often than not they get off with community service , eg no pain, the system over here sucks big time
I hate vandals, so I have spare badge that i want to try this method..
Sharpen all edges of the emblem RAZOR sharp! High polish afterwards so it will look "normal." lol..
The idiot that decides he is going to make some "bling bling" from my hood ornament will be rushing to hospital with his fingers in an ice box hahahahahahahha!!!
Blood is easy to clean off the hood of a car. Kids, teenagers, haters, etc.. DOnt touch what is not yours, otherwise you might just pay a price far worse than expected lol..
For real, I will let you guys know if I manage to get this one right
