Hello 140 section, i need to flush the radiator in my sisters s320 1995. Knowing mercedes, there is probably some complication with this. After searching, I didn't find much so... what should I look out for? How much coolant/antifreeze is needed exactly? What coolant/antifreeze is needed exactly (yes there are a few different kinds... i think). Any help is greatly appreciated since oilstop wants like $50 bucks to do it... and im cheap.

There is only one coolant for all mercedes, buy it from Merc dealer or from online sales who stock the mercedes product (around $23 for 4 ltr plus delivery). Normal mix is 50/50 coolant to distilled water and this should last for 3 years for temps above -30 deg c. I think for the S320 there is a valve at bottom of radiator to drain otherwise disconnect bottom hose. A good shop will do a pressure test and a back flush to clean any scale. If you have been using the MB coolant there should not be any scale. The capacity is usually around 11ltr and around 6 ltr for exchange. The price you have been quoted seems cheap and I suspect it is a quick drain and refill with non genuine coolant that will need to replaced in 1 to 2 years. If you want accurate info on DIY post vin and I can provide data for your car from WIS system.

In USA only MB or Zerex G05 nothing else is approved.
You will need about one gallon and a half, mixed with water 50/50
After draining flushing etc.
I drain fill with water, drive.. after a few days I drain again refill it.
Put the antifreeze first in, then add the water.
That is if where you are the temperature is not freezing.
