My park lights come on when the brake is pressed

I noticed the other day coming out of my apartment building - when I wind down the spiral ramp I can see the reflection of my car in some glass and when I'm working the brake the front parking lights are coming on too. Do all W140's do this? Or is this some kind of problem - I've never noticed it in 5 years of ownership I have no idea if it's always been like that. __________________
