One-touch window up & down - reset procedure

Hi, after taking the driver's door panel apart and re-assembling, the one-touch up & down no longer works on that door. The battery was not disconnected and the other 3 windows still work as usual. I'm assuming that this simply means that the window needs to 're-learn' the top & bottom position to re-enable the one-touch feature. However, using general feedback on the procedure, I put the key in the ignition and turn to position 1 (accessory power), then roll up the window, and push the switch up (the first click for up/down, not 2nd click for one-touch up/down) for 15s or 20s. Same for down.

Unfortunately it is having no effect. I have tried the 2nd position (one-touch) both up & down; I have tried pressing it for 30s. Is there any special trick to resetting / re-learning the one-touch up & down on a W140? Should the key not be in the ignition? Or did I break something else while I was in the door there?

TIA, Andy

My manual says to press the up button (at the normal up position, not the express function position) until the window is closed and hold for 2 seconds. Maybe you should disconnect the battery to reset everything.

Hi Brett, that's the same thing I read in Alldata - that the windows have to be "normalized". Unfortunately that doesn't work for me; maybe disconnecting the battery is in order at this point.

I hope I didn't cut a wire or knacker a sensor or something while I was in the door...

Thanks...
