@#$*%($ ASR light keeps going off.

hi guys,

A few months ago, I had an incident, where the ASR light turns on, and it goes on limp mode. Most of the time, i'm at a stop, and when i accelerate, the light would go on, and the engine goes on limp mode. Often, if i turn off the car and let it sit for a minute or so and turn it back on, it'd be fine, but this was such a problem that i actually took it back to the dealer to fix it.

Well, i fixed it at the dealer TWICE now, and it did that again recently...in the past, the dealer said that the computer was sensoring something near the brakes and so they tried to fix it, and then the second time they said it was a computer malfunction. They claimed to have fixed that too, but now it's on again...

any ideas why this problem keeps coming back? thanks...

ps. i did a search, but nothing came up for ASR coming on multiple times

Hi renelsisc,

If there is an ABS sensor fault, which is near the brakes, ABS light
would also be lit. Even if the other posts about ASR, is not completely
similar to yours, I would read the articles from StarTuned on the subject,
to better understand the system and what the inputs/outputs are.

I also helps us to help you, if you put your model/year somewhere
(in the avatar, signature, etc.)

Have a Mercedes workshop read the codes. Much more detailed
than OBDII.

And, after reading some of your older posts, please tell us if
you have replaced the wiring harness or not...

br,
syljua
