When buting new tires choose the smallest ones and I think thats 215 for w140. This will reduce road friction and decrease fuel consumption. I have 225 all around.
Picture me Rollin in my 500benz car been legendary since 2pac, there were just lucky gas prices werent off the roof now its a luxury to have a car just to afford the gas..........But like all of you i still love the W140 nothing compares
In mainly city driving, I average 17.5 mpg in the S320. The lowest I've ever seen...in city in the middle of winter, was around 15mpg. Needless to say, it's awesome for a 4500 lb car. My 3600lb deVille would hardly ever get better than 15.5 in city. On the highway, I've seen 23-25 mpg mainly.
my friend it wasnt that i didnt like my car or dont like the w140 but the one i had it ate gas like water man. seriously it felt like i had a S600 not a 300SE dude. anyway i am geting back in the w140 world pretty soon this time with the either one of the legendaries a S500 or a S600.
well then you better plan on hating it more if you get a 5 or a 6...my 6 got 13.2 MPG the other day in the city but she averages 17 to 20 on the hwy unless some stupid BMW wants to run and then its right back down to 15 mpg
Life on an outlaw...any Pac song is good for cruising but yeah the tire presurre does make the car roll easier i would say its one of the important things along with other friction
If you are getting bad fuel consumption 02 sensors are the things to check they adjust the mixture based on a reading from the cars exhaust, a good way to check is to simply unplug them for a while then the car will run on what is called a closed loop setup and see if the consumption improves they may either be giving a false reading in which case consumption should go down or something else is wrong.
