JUST SOLD MY W107 AND AM SEEKING ADVICE & THOUGHTS ON BUYING A W140 (GRAND EDITION)
I have an opportunity of purchasing a '99 S500 Grand Edition with everything in working order, full service records (it's been serviced regularly @ MB since birth, last servicing took place in December), with 94K miles. The person is asking $15,800. Is this a good price on this vehicle?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Best,
Rafael

Reason: Additional Info
Thats a great price for that vehicle! It's a great car and you really can't go wrong provided you know whats involved in ownership. I am personally asking $17,500 for my Grand Edition, knowing it will sell for slightly less. If I was in the market for one, I would jump on yours!

Do you know if Fast Eddie's Grand Edition is in good condition? Not sure if it's his as it's a different ebay name. Do you happen to have a link for his Grand Edition?

Hey Dante, please enlighten. From my '77 W107(450SLC) which was my 1st MB, I know that these marvels in German engineering are not cheap to maintain.I'm not averse to spending a little money on it's annual maintenance and the occasional repair.I just don't want to spend 16K on a car that I'm gonna have to put another 5-6K into. In any event, what kind of expenses can I expect? There's also an 1999 S500 with 54,000 miles on it but I figured the Grand Ed. would hold it's value as a result of its Limited-ness. Any light you could shed on what I can expect and your experience with this beautiful car would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
R
