4 years post closing assist pump adjustment and not one failure to close.
Counting time in years now for the robustness of this fix. As I clicked send on an email response to a fellow in Malaysia, who successfully rejuvenated his pump, I just realized it's been 4 years as of last month since I performed the pressure shut-off switch adjustment on my pump. My system has not had one single failure to close a door. Since Pete (pcmaher) hosted the write up on v12uberalles.com, in addition to Malaysia, I've received emails from a host of countries including Germany, Costa Rica, Canada, Australia, and Norway. I've been surprised by the international response. The first version of the article included only the pressure shut-off switch adjustment. Fortunately for me, that's all I've had to do to my pump. All the other information appearing therein was provided by others who took the time to correspond with me. Thanks for their efforts.
Brett, thanks to you to for the write up. The close assist fix was my first piece of DIY work on the W140. That was over 18 months ago, perfect and never touched since. I'm looking forward to the next 2 and a half years of faithful service.
Regards,
v12uberalles.com everything you need is there, that is if your pump isnt completely shot, which few are. most just need the screw adjusted to change shut off pressure time
