Trying to remove the front Catalytic Converter on a s500

Has anyone experience of removing the cats on the exhaust of an s500 w140. I keep thinking about doing it, having a look and going away again. If anyone could expain the job I would appreciate it, as I just need a hand in starting. The rear looks fine as I can see the bolts I need to remove, but the front appears to be hidden away. Thanks

in order to replace it with new ones or to drive without one?

dont drive without one... its illegal, and the smell will be unbearable for drivers behind you, + when you are in traffic, you will be inhaling that crap, and nasty smell, and your risk of getting cancer will increase 10 folds

Iam sorry snik but thats a load of BS, i have 500SEL that came from factory with no CATs and there is no unbearable smell and are your "10x Higher cancer risk" claims proved by some scientific experiment?
But fact is that for Our Planets sake i wouldnt remove it either...chris if you are after better perfomance you can get high flow CATs that will still do the job but give you some more HP

BTW anyone with angle grinder and welder can fit the new cats...

There are two bolts up near the exhaust manifold that release the cat. You will need a long socket extension and a flash light to reach it.
