Hello all, I've just become the proud father of a white '93 600 SEL.
99,000 k and immaculate, one NZ owner and from Hong Kong before that. Must have been a diplomat or business owner as it is really, really, pristine.
As a newbie I've found these forums really helpful, and I hope that someone can answer a few questions for me, I apologize if they've been dealt with before and I haven't found them.
Apart from a couple of reading light bulbs need to be replaced, a perplexing problem is as follows:
The wipers were initially not working, I picked it up on a sunny day so didn't think to test them. But later on the trip home they didn't operate. Yet the next day they did, but later that day they didn't, so I'm thinking when the car is cool they work and when warm they don't.
Has any one had a similar experience? Before I go to the auto electrician?
On another note, there's a 2 way switch next to the transmission selector marked S and E, economy and speed? extra and slow? any one know what that means?
One last question, these V12 cars started out at 408 horses, and then were reduced to 389. Was this just for the USA market or was this world wide? I am trying to make my mind up about ordering a ECU Performance Chip from Ebay.
