When I switched my AMG rims on the G.E and the stock 500SEL rims, the bolts that were originally on the Stock rims did not fit properly with the AMG rims. The cars ride great, and when I used the appropriate bolts with the appropriate rims everything was fine. I was wondering if this was maybe bad??

The offset on your AMG wheels is +31, you are after around +47 to +50.
The stud hole diameter, yes thats right, the diameter of the 5 stud holes varies between Benz models due to 2 different stud diameters! Some SL's and smaller sedans have a smaller stud hole than a w140 sedan (on genuine wheels), many aftermarket wheels have larger stud holes so they will fit more models.
Most importantly check the studs for enough thread protruding through the rim to hold it to the hub. Also the seating surface of the stud must match the seat on the rim. You may also need a hub-centric ring on each hub to enable the wheel to fit squarely on the hub.
Wrong studs= maybe loose wheels or wheel departs car(strips thread)!
Wrong offset= possible clearance problem with steering or suspension or even bodywork!
No hub ring= poorly located wheel= vibration!
