RE: Mercedes Badges on grill??

Most are high mileage awards given out by Mercedes-Benz. Germans tend to also like to display their auto club or the state that they live in (Bayern, Hesse, Sachsen, etc)

Ahhh, so if you see them in the US or Canada it would denote high milieage only?

no, you can buy grille badges. Some of them are Mercedes High Mileage, some of them are country grille badges (Ex. Sweden, Germany, Great Britain, etc.) Or many Mercedes-Benz clubs give them out (Ex. Mercedes-Benz Club of Canada)
There are many types of Grille badges. They do not all promote high mileage.

Thanks, is there any significance to these badges or is it just a prestige/decorative type of thing? Would one buy these from the dealer when a certain milieage is obtained?

RE: Mercedes Badges on grill??

Actually, they're free. You just go to MBUSA.com, download the form and fill it out then take it to your dealer where the service manager has to sign it then you send it in. They send you the badge, a lapel pin and a congratulatory message from Dieter Zetsche (CEO of DCX and Mercedes-Benz)all for free. The other grill badges with countries, etc you can get from performance products. They are not free.
