First, looking at the side photo (and concentrating on the length of the rear door compared to the front door, they are all LWB, besides the 126 only came in LWB, am I right?
nope, they made a SWB as well. Check this thread of the SWB vs. the LWB for more info.
I wouldn't mind driving W126 anywhere or any occasion as long as they are in top-notch condition with no damage or paint deteriorating. An excellent W126 looks like a real classic.
But if it looks like crab, I wouldn't want to drive it either. That would definitely look old.
yea. i agree with you. The 126 is a really nice looking car when it is in good condition.
thats what i was thinking as well. say that you havent wash your 126 in a long while, plus at that age add some rust to the rear fender wells, pardon my language but thats a "classic piece of junk".
Mbnz320, you have to be one of the most ignorant people I have ever seen post on this forum. You need to stop posting.
well. i wouldnt exactly go that far, but i just have to say that we all have to respect each other, instead of dissing and fighting with each other, and acting like little kids.
c'mon guys. we can express our opinions, but I personally do not like getting dissed and insulted about my cars. and i dont think you guys do either. So lets just have a peaceful discussion, and no dissing or negative statements about other people's rides.
C'mon guys. Lets get it together. No need for fighting.
True, let's express our opinions. Everyone has his or her own opinions. We don't need to agree with others' opinions. We just have to respect others' opinions.
And thanks to Ackvig who posted these pictures. They are really nice. It's very hard to find models of W140 and W126. I wish I have all these three models on a showcase at home. In fact, I wish I could collect all the generations of S-class models.

I also agree that the w140 and 126 models are very rare. Where did you get them from Ackvig?

Not mine. I can't remember where I got those, but I know it was around the time the Maybach came out, and I had to link through a web site several links and somehow those popped up. I tried to post them way back then, but they were bitmaps and wouldn't post. I FINALLY converted them to jpegs a few weeks ago, and just NOW am getting around to posting them for the masses.

I like W126 as well as W140 (well, my all time favorite is W140). I was very close to buy 1997 S420 until I had a job.
I am 23 yrs old, and currently in the process of changing my career. I don’t think it is a good idea to drive W140 to an interview for several reasons. So, I am holding on to it for a while.
But back to the question, I have no idea why some people here do not like W126. W126 & W140 are both certainly great example of Mercedes-Benz.
