Let me tell you, wow!!! What a difference, I cannt believe I waited so long.
Motor is liquid smoot, shifts are amazing and no more nasty downshifts. If you suspect you engine mounts are dying, do yourself a favor. They are $100 of Wbay and another $100 of labor.
In my case, mechanic raptured my Tranny colling hose, it was old and I had to get a new one, nice precation anyhow, but annoying when it happened. Make sure yours is fine when you leave.

Goinf from Park to any other Gear you get a jerk, and when downshofting you feel a annoying jerk. Feeling vibrations through the steering wheel at idle and throughout the RPM range.
With new mounts, Motor is very very smoot, hardly noticable.
I have a small jerk when moving from park to drive when the cars been on a hill but I think thats normal. I do get the odd vibration in the wheel but I think it may be corogations in our crappy roads. Car I check or have someone check for me easily just to make sure. Also just as general interest I find my car bumpy round town but smooth on the open road. It may have somthing to do with the low profile tyres but is that normal?
Brett your comment about motor mounts left me thinking. My car is a 93 with 65K miles on it and runs very smoothly.I experience no vibration at all. Do you think I should : A. have mechanic at least check on them or B.just go ahead and replace them or C. wait for some symptoms?
Thx
Peter
I should have said, they are likely old and probably should be replaced.
They should at least be inspected. Parts like this that are designed to be flexible and absorb vibrations (like suspension bushings) don't last forever. Engine mounts are one of those things that usually get ignored because even when they are bad, there usually isn't a catastrophic consequence. So people will just keep driving on old mounts not wanting to spend the extra money to maintain the car to perfection. They probably become used to the extra vibrations that may slowly develop from old mounts and not realize that it can be corrected.
I'm a bit of hypocrite. My car is 8 years old and has 116,000 miles, and I don't know whether the mounts have ever been replaced.
If that's soon enough. [:)] But it'll be for the V12.
inetd did a brief write-up in a recent post. Short on pics but descriptive. But, I think it was also for the V12 (Maybe it was for the V8 since he has one of those, too.).
