Engine Air Injection Pump

Does anyone know how to service these - ie fill the oil up etc as mine is getting quite noisy and my fathers 320E makes a right old racket!
The 600's done 128k and on an s320 I had it was as quiet as a mouse!
Any ideas anyone?[8)]

RE: Engine Air Injection Pump

Normally the bearing pulley makes the noise when its wornout, you can replace this parts. all you have to do is remove the airpump and replace the damaged pulley.

It's oilless. No service is required. Rebuilt ones are available.

You can buy just the pulley from the MB dealer parts counter. I checked it out when my air pump pulley locked up, and they wanted over US$500 for just the pulley. Ridiculous. (My car is a 1997 S600 sedan.) I passed and bought an entire rebuilt pump with pulley and clutch for almost US$500. (That may be ridiculous, too, but I paid it.)

My 600S coupe, this emission part was not covered under the aftermarket warranty. The dealer is quoting USD $1800.00 to replace. What say you all?

RE: Engine Air Injection Pump

Go to an independent mechanic and have him put on a rebuilt one
