96 two tone wanting to paint all black, how much? - Benzworld.org

i want to paint the bottom part of the car to black, right now is a dull grey color. i have heard Maaco does shitty jobs. how much do you think it will cost for a decent paint job.

as you can see i dont really like the two tone, i think painting it all black will definately update the look of the whole car.

did it come that way stock on all 96'? cuz i bought my 96 used, and the whole thing was black.

It would be interesting to note which W140s were two toned. I personaly hate the two toned look, a solid black or silver would be good. But which years have it?

i have seen some old MB released pictures of a 96 W140 S class, and some are in black. I think it must have been a factory option.

Well, from my experience with researching this matter, Mercedes changed the styling of the W140 in early 1996. If your 1996 model was built in late 1995, then it has a 2 tone bumper, but if it was built/delivered in early 1996, then it's bumper is the same color as the rest of the vehicle. If I had to guess, your Mercedes was manufactured sometime in late 1995. Check the info plate on the inside of the driver door....

Not sure how much should it cost where you live, but i coughed up around $1000.00 to get a decent job done 1.5 years ago. I need a repaint now.
