I was trying to change the outside pollen air filter (the one under the hood below the wipers), all all the screws came out except for one. This one just keeps spinning, but never loosens or comes out. looks as though the bottom nut is spinning with it. Now I cannot change the filter. Any suggestions as to how to get this thing out? I have tried spraying it with Liquid Wrench to no avail. It is the one on the extreme back, so I cannot reach under the screw from the underneath.
I used the instructions on PCMAHER's website. Thanks again.
If it helps the "nut" is one of those pressed into the lower housing. Maybe you can gently pull up on the cover and the nut will come out with the bolt. If it is that loose it should pull out,you can then epoxy it back in. I my case MB over tighnet it and pulled it out
Peter,
I tried that to no avail. Thanks for the suggestion. See you back in sunny FL soon.
Take care.

Im sorry that did not work, try pulling or putting upward pressure on the cover while turning the screw, maybe it will allow it to cut itself out. It is a brass insert that is pushed into the lower housing. I have pushed mine in but when the screw is tighend it pulls it out so I leave it loose, you seem to be pretty handy. I think the rear is a short one The last time I changed the filter ($pricey) the drain hoses were brittle, MB had them.
Well we are returning to destruction, no beach erosion, but lots of tree uprooting and the palms look like light poles, and the poles are all down. So much for sunny Florida
