We await the cost estimate for your MAF sensors.. That will take more than 5 minutes to fix...

I have had K&N in my car for 3 years now without any problems. They work great, especially with the modified chip and Bosch playinum+4 plugs.

I think If you use the K&N oil sparingly and not over do it, you will be ok. Its been in my car for over 5 years now and no problem. Dont over oil the bottom of the filter, apply a very light coat. I do believe if you do over oil it, eventually the oil will contaminate your sensor.

Did you dyno before and after? It's the only way to really know, isn't it?

RE: kn air filters for my s600c v12

I recently replaced my OEM filters with K&N aswell, thanks for dis advice when re-oil is required. I will keep it to an absolute minimum for sure. I definetly noticed an improvement en acceleration and performance from the onset. I hope mine MAP remains operational for a very long time. Personally, if i notice any issues et all I will toss da K&N and go back to da original filters for sure. I appreciate dis post! Hans

u didnt actually GAIN power, as much as you RESTORED missing power due to your clogged old filers.
K and N filters are good for no more that 2-5Hp over stock...maybe up to 7Hp in big engines (like your V12)

RE: kn air filters for my s600c v12

K&N will help you most if you have a chip to complement it. You may not realise or feel the difference in HP, but your gas mileage will increase over the stock filter, something you can measure at the gas pump. When I put K&N in, my stock filters were new, with only about 3k miles on them, and I saw a difference. Complemented with K&N, Bosch +4 and chip, I easily average 27 mpg at 70 mph. Remarkable for a big V8 powered heavy car.

My K&Ns have been there in my S420 for more than 3 years, no problems with MAFs. I have had them in ALL my cars for over 12 years, and have never had a problem. If you use them correctly, no problems. If some overambitious person over-oils them, I don't know what can happen.

I have even had one for my Honda powered lawn mower, with Bosch +4 and it has done wonders for my lawn mowing!!!! Hard to believe I would put K&N and Bosch platinum +4 on a lawn mower, but I did. I truly can mow taller and thicker grass without stalling!!!!
