Changing the V12's front main seal posted in the "knowledge base" thread.

I just posted my write up of changing the front main seal in my 1997 S600's engine. It's really long with 19 pictures. That thread is getting way too long, now. Anyone on dial-up will have to wait a year for the entire thread to load.

I just got the whole thing back together last night.

After some test drives, there's bad news, good news, and bad news. Bad news, oil is still leaking. Good news, it's not from the front main seal. Good news, since I cleaned everything up in the process, I could tell where it's leaking from. Bad news, I think it's coming from the oil filter housing, which requires removing the radiator (again) and also the power steering pump and dislodging the AC compressor. But, it could be the valve cover in the area above the filter housing. I couldn't see around the power steering pump to tell.

I think I'll let it leak a while before going on another 2 month repair odyssey. I want to drive it again for a bit.
