Hi guys,I am a new guy here ,Im from Toronto,I want to buy W140 ,just need some info about LWB models,is theres only S600?Or I can fing 500,420,320?????? And what aboute a gas? Which one is the best one? Actually Im looking for 420,500!!! Thank U!!!With all due Respect!!! STAS.[:)]
S600 was LWB only. S320,S420 and S500 came in SWB or LWB. (S280 which was not sold in US SWB only)
Not a huge difference in fuel consumption for example, S320 would do about 14.6 miles per (imperial) gallon around the city whilst S600 would do about 11.5! On the freeway 28 and 22 respectively giving a mix of 21 per gallon for the S320 and 16.7 for the S600.

RE: LONG WHEEL BASE
To clarify a bit here.
The 140 model was made both in short (W140) and long (V140) version.
Only the Turbo diesel and the 280 (300 2,8 in some countries.) did not come in as a long wheelbase.
300, 320, 400, 420, 500, 600 came all in both long and short wheelbase.
I used to have production data here, but I probably left the CD’s at work.

I'm still confused here, when I researched before I bought my car I also looked at the Kelly Blue book.
When I gave in S class it only showed me the S320 in LWB/SWB.
I also never saw an ad advertised a S 420 or S500 SWB.
Hi
There was surely SWB also for the S600 and I used to drive one for a few times.
As stated, most models of the w140 family was offered in both size.
Actually as the w140 first came to the market , the German Car Magazines wrote , that there is two version for the car , the "Normal " and the "Short ".
It is possible though( and I think it is the case), that the later s600 were offered only in LWB for the US.
Dennis
U.S. never had SWB 600 nor did it ever have LWB 320, or 420. I am not so clear about 500s in U.S.
Anyways, do you guys know how much longer or shorter the two are? I don't know anyone with SWB to measure the two but surely there must be data on the web somewhere.
