Headlight Lens

Hey everyone! I have a S420 and I got a crack on the left headlight lens. I was trying to buy the part online, but when I contacted the online dealer they told me that I counldn't use the lens from the same model with a A34 chassis on my car with same model with a A33 chassis. Do anyone know the difference or why it won't fit[?]

There is a diffrent in design, send me your chassisnr and i will try to find the correct partnumber.

I would need your whole number, but I’ll try to get it.
WDB 140 042 1A 334436 was false, so I need your whole number.
And your part number is a Bosch number so I cant guarantee nothing.

Did you guys figure this out? I have the same question. I have taken my headlight assemblies out to clean the lenses but now I have a stone chip in one and thought I would replace the lens only.

Unfortunately, the parts at AutoHaus says lens is for chassis FROM A348451 and I am A236479. The p/n is 1408208066 (lens)

Will this fit? Is it just a case where they don't want to replace lenses on assemblies that are epoxy sealed for fear of some error in assembly or something?

Thoughts?

92-95 has a different setup if you notice in the pic below there are side tracks where the headlight assembly slides into. Also near the far right of the pic theres a tongue sticking out, this is where the wiper arm plastic cover screws into. I also noticed the 92-95 are amber in color while 96-99 are more clear.

The 96-99 are more simple and cheaper and have a clearer lens. The problem with all the online websites/programs is that they list the 96-99 lens for your 94-95 model as well ( maybe some of those models came with the newer type lens and thats why they list them under those years as well.). They dont differentiate between the two and list the cheaper one for 47 bucks or so. They do not list a lens for 92-93
These came under my 94 s 420 search however its wrong, this is not the one for my model, my model uses the above ones with the side tracks. That was from my own observation trying hunt down a lens, received a wrong order once for the above reason. finally bought the whole assembly used off ebay and thse came cracked.
