I am the guy with the intermittent a/c problem #1565437. It only happens on long high speed trips and never in the city, even if I am using car around town for 2-4 hours.
After the 1 1/2 highway driving The flaps seem to close by themselves. I have done the diagnostic test suggested by Jim Forgione and got EO 47, EO 75, E0 83,EO 99, E1 03. I cleared those codes and now I only get E 075 without having the problem occur again since I havent taken any long trips YET. Any Gurus make sense of that ?
Thx

Wierd. That code points to Coolant Circulation Pump (A31m1), open or short circuit. Sometimes clearing all the old codes straightens things out. You should inspect the pump though for proper operation.

After reading your post on rewiring the ETA I realize I am in WAY OVER MY HEAD.But K6JRFs site has at the end of it * Possible Sequential Failures 75, 83, 99, 103 and I had all of those plus E0 47. After I cleared them all, just E103 remains.
Does that mean anything to you?
WOW you guys are really mechanics . I think I can just about rewire a table lamp.

I need a little more info. I thought you did the AC test on Jim's page which retrieves AC fault codes. Maybe I misunderstood? How did you pull these codes? From what system / module?
from the control module n22 . I got these codes originally : EO 47, EO 75, E0 83,EO 99, E1 03. Thats the same as ALLDATAs method. I cleared them all using Jims method. I have not taken any long trips and not had any problems but I retested and I still have the one code E075.
The flaps are working fine and I have had NO problems. The flaps stick in semi closed position only after driving > 1 hour at highway speeds
The problem has only happened 2 x in 2 years. Both times where on trips from NYC to Providence RI and back.I keep my a/c set at around 68-70 degrees year round, so the a/c comes into play most of the year.
But again the only times I have had problems were on long trips which I seldom take.
Thx PGP
Just an update . I took my car out yesterday for a ride around the city. Tetsted for a/c codes before I left and I found none now. It came up E0 00 meaning no codes I hope . I have heard it should show E0 01 for no faults but E0 00 after clearing codes. I have cleared codes therfore E0 00. I dont know if it will ever read E0 01 again .
I will keep my eye on it and test for codes frequently
