S320 performance

Hi there,

Maybe this topic has been milked out already in that case sorry, but I would like to know from some owners who have driven both the S320 AND the V8/V12 models how they would rate the performance of the six inline.

I am still not sure what to buy and I can't get the W140 out of my head.

The 3.2L inline 6 is a fine torquey little engine.

Of the total W140 production 48.3% had the 3.2l in-line straight six engine. This makes it the most popular engine choice. Of course it doesn`t mean it`s the best engine which many think is the 5.0l.

It is, however, more than adequate.

In the UK W140s are getting relatively cheap to buy and there is often not a lot of difference between S320s and S500s. Significantly the V8s do not use that much more fuel than the six cylinder cars.

There is one saying that you probably know “There is nothing that beats cubic.�
Brabus have made their own “There is only one substitute to cubic inches, more cubic inches.�

But when you think about it a 3,2 litre inline six is a better engine construction than a V8, of course less than a V12 but….

There are only three engine constructions, which are good.
These are boxer four, inline six and V12.
These are balanced; none of the others are…

I like the sound of inline 6 (No sound) but the power of mine V8, there fore my dream is V12....

So i guess I have to opt for a Brabus 7.3S 585 HP and S320L so I can never complain...

I will start saving right away by skipping lunch [:(]
