I'm new to the board and also a new owner of a S420 which I bought on Ebay 2 weeks agao.
Till now I'm happy and the car drives great, but reading all the info here from the board it seems the 140 has some flaws too.
I found 2 companies who offert me an extented warranty(over 100000 Miles).
The one pays "only" $65 per hour repair time, the other pays full but is also more expensive.
The price for the first is $1500 for 3 years the second one charges the same amount but for only 2 years and 24K miles.
Does either makes any sense?
Ps.
English isn't my first language so excuse any spelling errors.

RE: Extented Warranty
Buying these services you make a bet. You bet that your car is going down; they bet that it stays good.
Do you think they usually loos?
No, they win all the time, that’s why they do this….
It is your choice but think about it.

They explained to me that usually they don't like to insure cars with that age and over 100000 Miles, but it is a goverment regulation that they have to offer that insurance to be able to sell extented warranties in Florida.
So they acknowledge that it is probably a losing business for them.
When I started to check for insurances I only could find some with covering powertrain only.
