OOPS!
Well, before I had the experience of someone accidently putting gas in my 300SDL...now I have someone that accidently put 89 octane in my S500. I'm going to go to the parts store and get some octane booster, but is there anything else I should do? I'm afraid to drive the darn thing![xx(]

You know you're German if:
You went to school in a Gymnasium
You check your shoes for candy on December 6
You have real candles on your Christmas tree
You know a Frankfurter is a person not a hotdog
Schnitzel with noodles is your favorite meal, not a song in a cheesy musical!
You drive the Autobahn in a Mercedes-Benz at the speed of sound!
IT will burn it, the engine has knock sensors to retard the spark, dont get into any speed contests. I have put 89 in my car and have noticed no real difference, 92 might give a better idle and maybe a little better mileasge.
Peter is spot on. It won't hurt your car. It adjusts automatically for lower octane. Just add the good stuff at about half a tank, then use that up as completely as possible before filling up with super again.

Actually, if you go and add a half tank of 93 you'll bring the 89 over the 91 mark. The additives in the 93 effect the 89 (or 87 if that ever happens) quite handily.

Need parts? Give a call, I don't sell anything I wouldn't install on my own car.
