My new purchase.High miles,amazing low price-so I had to have her.Not sure the 280 is availiable across the pond,but its the same straight 6 as the 320.I'm considering selling my 750 for this car as two years of 14 mpg motoring is the main reason this car appeals!
Meant to say car is a '99 model-and seems loaded with all the toys-Glass sunroof,Heated Seats,Dual Climate,Polished 8-Holes,and the obligatory S600/V12 Badges!!!
get rid of the splash guards, and definately is a short wheel base model. at least use a long wheel base if you want to disguise as a s600. people can tell. overall, its a nice looking mercedes, except for the splash guards.
600's were not all LWB's-you could order either standard or Long when new.You're right about the splashguards(mudflaps to us in the UK)although on this vehicle with its 220000 miles,they've done a great job of stopping stone chips hitting the rear bumper/side sills!
They're mudflaps to us, too. At least most of us. Hmmmmnnn... I think I'd actually like some in the rear, just for the protection, but probably won't make a move for them. Keep the flaps, get rid of the phoney badges. You don't want you mechanic to tell his mechs, "OK, next car up, go pull in that "S600" [;)][:p]" while supressing a snicker.
