95 s320, cleaned my engine with engine degreaser and water hose, now it's idling not smooth as before (miss firing) I washed it. I used a leaf blower to dry most of everything before starting engine. Also have an engine oil leak somewhere @ lower/front of engine but don't think it's the oil pan gasket, oil seems very fresh. Please help thanks ya'll.
True, True, True, as least with an MB, guess I'll just clean the entire engine with a toothbrush..lol. I appreciate your advice, there should be a section on this site titled "Things you don't want to do with an MB", then we will all learn from others experience, which is truly valuable.
Here MAY BE a probable solution:
spray the engine electricals with ethanol to dissolve the water. If water has entered distributor caps and spark plug housings then you may have to open them out and dry them. I have also seen paint thinner being used for wiping electricals. Keep everyting open in sunlight and air it out in sunlight. Do NOT start engine for a day or two, the misfiring can damage engine cylinder heads and pistons due to random firing and excessive pressures at the wrong time, as the cylinders may be firing at the incorrect timing.
Above all, do so at your own risk. In a normal car this procedure would not be a problem, but I don't know how it would affect the weak wiring of a W140.
