Exit '93 SWB W140, Enter '97 SWB W140

Tuesday I traded my ’93 Black/Gray 300SE SWB W140 for a spotless ’97 black/black S320 SWB W140. MAN, this is truely the definition of upgrade. FOR NOW, every last bell and whistle works! Whole car is in pristine condition. My mechanic said not only did wiring harness look good, he said "it looks
fresh"[:0] only stipulation was that my rims go home on the new car with me! $16,000.00, 123,000 miles. For the condition of the car, thats a good dealer price in this area. Your comments ARE welcome based on your experince, though. Could have done better privately, but I had to unload my car, and wasn't trying to sell it myself again. Too many goofballs inquire on these. More details to come.

Ackvig, then it's time to change your signature from 93 to 97. Incidentally, I saw a LWB, mint condition 1997 S320, white, with 70k miles, single owner, for $15k from I79 Honda/Mazda here in the PA boonies.
Check out www.i79honda.com and view their inventory.
Take care.

As per request. This is the FIRST day it's stopped raining and the sun came out to get some snaps of the new ride.

Lets get to the controversial part first. I caught an EMBARRASSINGLY low deal on AUTHENTIC AMG monoblocks - in 19 inch[:0]!

Now, even *I* Think 18" is the perfect size and really wanted to stay there. But these are AMG approved, (obviously) and made specifically to bolt right on to the W140. ET46. Still, I was/still am nervous as hell. [:I]

First off what i like: the ride. AMAZINGLY, just like on my 18's. Take bups just fine, no wagon wheel jarring or anything. Even my wife thought it was just fine, and trust me, she (as I) would have piped up the firts time our teeth jarred. So that part is just fine. Even i'm still shocked about that.

What I don't like: Tire size choices are VERY limited, less room to roam then on my 18's.
The previous owner fitted them with 245/35ZR19 fronts and the rears are 275/30ZR19 (same overall height.)

Also, dab nabbit, even with a TRUE W140 fitment, YES, it DID through my speedo off by about 5 mph. [xx(]

These are considered in still on "probation" at my household. If I feel it's too extreme, hello Ebay.

I felt the exact same way when i put the 190 on 17's and now I don't even notice them. The 19's are already starting to look more natural than yesterday as well.

Now, I now many of are opposed to the 19's no matter what. i can't say there is not valid concern there, as I will evalute further as well.

OH, forgot to tell you guys that my Carlssons are for sale on Ebay. If a W140er want 'em, email me with a resonable offer. To me, they look awful in those pics, but thats not a true representation. I hope to get some better pics on that ad today. It has FINALLY stopped raining![:)]

your new W140 looks absolutely divine

Hope you enjoy your new ride....

...Despite all the mercedes shortcomings, its hard to kick the merc habit. Having a similar problem myself with a 163. I keep telling myself to walk but am drawn towards it.
