As a purist, I don't normally ask this but where is the best place to purchase an S600 grill for my '97 S500. I see them on e-Bay all the time but am not sure if that's the best place to go.
Thanks
Paul
get the one from ebay. just make sure the seller has good feedback and read the responses from others that bought it. their $80 with shipping. those other links show them at $400. you could buy five. it's only the insert not the chrome ring.

FYI...My 1992 600SEL of course came from the factory with the traditional 140 grill seen on all models at that time. A few months ago I went to my local dealer and order the "600" Grill (1996 and up) plastic piece and then all of the chrome members that go horizontally and one verticle. I found assembling the new grill to be a pleasant experience. It was exciting installing the new one and driving around with it on! Of course my car IS a 600. It would be a SIN to drive...say an S420 or S500 with a 600 grill! You may get pulled over by the "Grill Police"!!! By all means...get one for your car. Its fun. I also enjoy that I have my pristine original grill in a clear plastic bag (the one the new plastic piece came in) on display in my garage! You know, of course, that you do not have to buy an entire grill; just the insert. [:)][:)][:)]
